Hi everyone,
August has been good to us so far and comes with several announcements;
We now have one of the largest selections of springtail species commercially available in Canada. Ready to go now are: Tropical Pink, Temperate White, Spanish Orange, Lilac, Yellow Albino, Tiny Blue, Cotton, Thai Red, and Woolly Mammoth. We have a few more species in the works that we plan to add to our lineup before the end of the year so keep your eye out for those in the coming months.
NEW SPECIES are now available; we have BUFFALO WORMS aka lesser mealworms for sale. Also called ‘mini mealworms’ these insects are both prime feeders as well as superior CUC members.
CECROPIA and POLYPHEMUS cocoons are now available for sale. The cecropia will emerge from their cocoons in 2026 while the poly are likely set to emerge in the next couple weeks (although have been conditioned to overwinter, pm for more details). We are offering these two species at a fantastic price so get yours while supplies last.
The MINUTE FUNGUS BEETLE are an exciting new species the OIF is using as MOLD CONTROL in the terrarium. More info is in their product description for this species.
Shipping continues with live arrival guarantee still in place. If the forecast calls for extreme heat we will notify the customer and will hold back the order until cooler weather arrives.
Our DERMESTID colonies experienced the slight hiccup in production but are making a full recovery. We expect to have the species available again by the end of August.
While the only show for this month, the Toronto bug day at the Allen Gardens, has come and gone, we are busy preparing for the Canadian Reptile Breeders Expo coming in September. Anyone wanting to arrange an order for pick up at the show please contact us and we can have ready for when you come by the table.
