Isopods are a top choice for adding to any setup you want move towards becoming "bioactive" and at the OIF are broken down into three major categories; dwarf, core, and specialty.
The dwarf species are excellent for both small and larger spaces. Their small size, in combination with their tendency to burrow extensively, means while they aren't always visible, you can be assured they are working hard behind the scene. They have their own page here.
A handful of isopods are considered our "core species"; Pruinosus var. "Party Mix," Giant Canyon, and Laevis var. "Jumbled Mix." These species are the ones we have found to be hardiest, most adaptable, and are strong breeders. The Party Mix line of Pruinosus is one of our signature offerings and has been improved and refined over a number of years.
Finally, sometimes other kinds of woodlice get listed from one of the smaller herds we keep which fall outside of the first two groups for sale: the "specialty" pods. These are usually limited in their time and number offered, so get 'em while they last!

All species offered are sold as mixed age groups and typically you will receive specimens ranging between small juveniles to sub-adults. The very small, newly birthed young (known as "manca") are never a part of your count!
