BUFFALO WORMS/LESSER MEALWORM
(Alphitobius diaperinus)
 
It may go by many names; cleaner beetles, mini mealworms, buffalo worms, lesser mealworms. Whatever you call them this beetle truly has it ALL!!! 
 The larvae make an excellent feeder for small herptiles and invertebretes, being only 5-10mm in length and more digestable than yellow mealworms due to the low chitin in their exoskeleton
 They also make an excellent  CUC for cricket and roach colonies, readily eating leftover food, sheds, and dead insects, thus reducing smell and extending time between cleaning. This makes them a great components of drier bioactive setups. 
While they aren't nearly as effective  as dermestids, this species is capable of doing skull cleaning for taxidermy purposes as well and can be housed alongside the aforementioned dermestids.
